I've been coming to this restaurant for 20 years, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Get the hot and sour soup, and the Sichuan chicken if you're not sure. I couldn't think of something to complain about if I tried!
Best quality and reliability for straight up Chinese food in Grapevine/Southlake. I like alot of different Asian foods and oddly it's easier to find good Thai or Pho or Indian around here than Chinese. Empress separates itself well from a big pack of "ok" options for true blue Chinese though.
Great service and even better food
Heard good things from a local friend. We shared an order of orange chicken. Flavor was good but chicken was overcooked, dry, and tough. Don't know that I would order take out from them again.
I have been eating at this restaurant for over 11 years. The food is always good and the wait staff is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome crispy duck. Great fried rice. Home made steamed dumplings!! Great experience.
Dining in is not available, or limited. I sat at the bar and had a quick meal at the bar.
Excellent experience. Food was delicious.
Suprisingly good, had the Thai street noodles and the General Tsao chicken!! Great service!
Always go there for Chinese food. Great food!! Great service!
One of my main spots to grab something to eat. excellent location, well organised, and great service. Keep it up!
First time and had combination seafood fried rice for lunch. It comes with choice of soup and an egg roll. The egg drop soup was really good, but the egg roll was barely warm and greasy. It was obviously precooked and had been sitting around. The fried rice was nearly perfect... Really flavorful with loads of shrimp and egg.
Easy to find. Good food. Good service. Nice bar.
Best Chinese and service is awesome.
I think that the reason the food tasted good was because i thought it tasted good not because it was actually good. Please fix for 5 stars.
Went here last night for a take out dinner and the food was delicious. I got the stir fry broccoli with chicken and fried rice. The chicken and broccoli were cooked perfectly and was not super salty. Both were in a light sauce and had a few water chestnuts. So yummy! The rice was lightly fried and had a nice flavor. I definitely want to come back for more of this!
Consistently good and never fails to please.
Lovely, delicious and uplifting.
We went here some time ago but we weren't from the area so we had forgotten the name. Now moving back I have finally found it again. Certainly some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Our waiter was incredibly polite. Not too overbearing like some restaurants may be. Would give this place 6 stars if I could.
Before "shelter in place" I was driving near this restaurant about weekly, and I would stop there for lunch almost as often. In all the times I have been there, I have never found anything on the menu that I don't like. So many great menu items, so little time. Now, in our 'shelter in place' society, I stop there and order one of my many favorites on their menu … curbside delivery. Great food, great management and staff, great service, including curbside delivery during 'shelter in place'. I highly recommend this dining experience, whether you buy to-go and eat at home, or whether you don't get there until after shelter in place is over, and you dine in the restaurant, if your taste in Chinese food is anything like mine, you will enjoy it. I've never met the Chef, but this place rocks!!!!
Just a wonderful restaurant beautiful plates of yummy food . Delicious soup and wonderful owners and staff. My new fav local restaurant. Treated my family like thier own .
It's ok, the service isn't great and the food is so so.
I love the spicy crispy beef!
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the Dallas area. The food here is excellent, very consistent, and always served well. The staff is very helpful in making recommendations and taking care of all your service needs when it comes to eating a nice lunch or dinner. The manager is always present, and is in the restaurant at all times checking on level of service and food quality. Both of the Chinese and Thai dishes or good. I happen to prefer the spicy beef dishes, but have had many others there and they're all very good. There can be a bit of a white for lunch during the business week, as this is a popular lunch spot, been in the evening there is seldom any wait at all. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will go out of my way to eat here at every opportunity possible
Clean, pleasant staff. Food is good, not great.
Been here a handful of times. Each time, the staff is friendly and didn’t have to wait too long for order. Their General Sal’s is good, egg drop soup was delicious. Good food. Not the best you can find, I’m sure, but I’m always happy to eat here when I’m feeling Chinese food.
Americanize Chinese food. Service was mediocre.Would not recommend as authentic. Lots of msg.
Yummy and quick!
What a wonderful place!! Great customer service and flavorful food.. happy happy happy!!
Terrible! Jalopeno Stir Fry contains "jalapenos, zuchinii, baby corn, and mushrooms." NO WHERE DOES IT SAY RED OR GREEN BELL PEPPERS... Yet somehow you managed to make my meal with over 50% bell peppers, so I paid full price for half of a meal. If I wanted bell peppers I would have ordered a menu item that lists them.Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this is helpful to whomever reads this.
This spot is great! Reasonable rates, large dishes and the employees are always super friendly.
Very good tastes in every dish. The Pad Thai with glass noodles was really great last trip. Never disappointed with a meal from this restaurant.
Super good! Quick for lunch, very friendly staff. Very clean place!
Love this place. Especially for lunch. They have a great lunch special including soup and egg rolls.
While the food was decent, this was the least spicy dish I've ever had that was designated 'spicy'. Same with the Kung Pao chicken. Seems to be food for the typical American palette.
This is a new place for me ..great service and food was great
Consistent, good quality Chinese food. I go there often.
Fantastic! Great hospitality and food! Their lunch specials are very well priced, and they have great flavors with all of their fresh vegetables. I cannot think of a better Chinese restaurant in the area.
I’ve been coming here for about 20 years now and it’s STILL my favorite Chinese place. I take new people there and they’re usually skeptical until they eat. Then they believe me without a doubt. Went last night and the young lad waiting on us did a FANTASTIC job. I was so impressed. He would do so well at a high end restaurant. Come to find out, he’s brand new and still in training.
The Mongolian beef is very good borderline great. The other dishes are just ok. The worst part is the service.
Really fast takeout. And the food was awesome. Hunan chicken.
Low score just for those looking at the low scores. Actual score 5 bright stars. But felt that I needed to.Best Chinese coming from an American tongue.Had 3 lunch orders, meat + style with rice and choice of soup with spring rollOrange peel chickenSweet and sour chickenMongolian beefAll with egg drop soup.First, the egg drop soup. Perfect with pepper and soy sauce. Spring roll, not like the spring rolls from Panda, these are big and flavorful. All the entrees where of better quality than other chinese places. It all felt authentic with no short cuts while keeping to the familiar flavors one would expect from what we ordered.Big props to the beef and sweet and sour chickenTypically you get neat slices of beef, not here, the beef curled as if you tried frying it at home. The breading on the chicken was not, I repeat not, puffing off the chicken leaving you only a sliver of meat. Fortune cookies where good, coming from someone who isn't a fan.
I ordered the sesame chicken with white rice and a chicken eggroll. The eggroll was great, but the sesame chicken was super disappointing. It was pretty much regular pieces of chicken dipped in sesame sauce, layered with ALL the fat. Ugh. The rice was cool but there was something cheap about it, AND the soy sauce was trash. I won’t be back.
The wife and I were looking for a nice quiet place to get some good Chinese food and the Empress of China was that and more. Amazing service and fantastic food at a great value.
Food is bland AF. Water tastes like mildew. Lame ingredients and poor flavor. Stick tables and dirty menus. May be cheap but do you self a favor and go somewhere else. Don't know how this place has such high ratings.
I've always liked this restaurant. People are friendly. Only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because for whatever reason my General Tsao's chicken didn't taste right. I don't know if they changed the recipe or if this particular chef changed it..
I have been eating here since the 90's and it is the best Chinese food I've ever had.I've taken people here that have had good food IN China and they tell me it tastes better.Everyone I've taken that is even the slightest bit skeptical comes out surprised and satisfied in a food coma.
Ehhh!!! not bad but nothing to write home about
Our family has favorites here: Mandarin Pecan Chicken and General Tao Chicken are both best we’ve found. Staff takes good care of you!
The food was good and variety on the menu was excellent. Definitely worth the trip.
